Pearl Harbor National Memorial

Pearl Harbor Tours, Compared

The USS Arizona Memorial is free, but the tickets go fast. A tour can sort out the ticket, the drive, and the bag rules.

Pearl Harbor National Memorial has no entrance fee. The USS Arizona Memorial program, a film and a short boat ride to the memorial, needs a ticket reserved on Recreation.gov ($1 fee). Tickets release 56 days ahead and again one day ahead, both at 3 p.m. Hawaiʻi time, and Recreation.gov says same-day free tickets are no longer handed out at the visitor center.

No bags are allowed in the visitor center or on the memorial: no backpacks, purses, or camera bags. Storage near the entrance costs a small fee, and some tour vans can’t hold bags either. The Battleship Missouri, USS Bowfin, and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum are separate sites with their own tickets.

Tours from Waikīkī handle the drive and, on most, the Arizona ticket. Read each listing: two operators here say memorial tickets aren’t guaranteed and fall back on the standby line, and if the Navy suspends the boats, the tour continues without a refund.

Tickets: what each tour promises

  • Tickets included: Karma Tour Hawaii, Visit Pearl Harbor Hawaii, and Hawaiʻi Luxury Travel Concierge include Arizona Memorial tickets; pickup times can shift to match your ticket time.
  • Not guaranteed: Pearl Harbor Tours says memorial tickets are not guaranteed, and Aloha Sunshine Tours uses the National Park Service standby line when passes run out.
  • Guides wait outside: operators say guides can’t go into the visitor center or onto the memorial, so you explore on your own.

Going on your own

The visitor center is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day); memorial programs run from 8 a.m., with the last boat at 3:30 p.m. Parking is $7 a day. Book your Arizona ticket on Recreation.gov the moment your date opens.

FAQ

Questions people ask before booking

Do I need tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial?

Yes. Program tickets are free but must be reserved on Recreation.gov ($1 fee). They release 56 days ahead and one day ahead at 3 p.m. Hawaiʻi time, and Recreation.gov says same-day free tickets are no longer available at the visitor center.

Can I bring a bag to Pearl Harbor?

No. Backpacks, purses, camera bags, and large handbags aren’t allowed in the visitor center or on the memorial. There’s paid bag storage near the entrance; several tours also allow no luggage in their vans.

Is the Battleship Missouri included?

Only on some tours. The Missouri, USS Bowfin, and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum are separately ticketed. Two tours here include the Missouri.

How long do you need at Pearl Harbor?

The Arizona Memorial program alone takes a morning. Add the Missouri or the aviation museum and plan most of a day; Waikīkī tours run from a half day to a full day.
